Although Cape Town may look small from the air as your plane descends over the Atlantic with the city and surrounding suburbs encircle the mountain and stretch out in all directions. From the west coast all the way to Stellenbosch or Durbanville in the north, campervan hire in Cape Town is a simple affair. Many of the dealerships carrying campervan and 4x4 campers hire as well. Camping and the outdoors is almost a religious past time in the Cape. There are so many options to choose from, like Trout fishing in the Worcester mountains to camping beside the sea in Rooi Els.
All along the West coast are wonderful and interesting towns that have camping facilities. Fishing is also superb along this coast line. Snoek, Yellowtail and Yellowtail, Mackerel and Cape Cod are but a few of some of the yummy fishes that can be caught there. All of the above are best enjoyed when freshly caught and place in silver foil on the coals. Many of the locals will be more than willing to share their special recipes if you ask them nicely! They may even invite you over to share in their fish braai, just remember it is courteous to bring a bottle of drink for the host. Brandy is always the first chose when doing this.
