Midrand, Pretoria and Johannesburg are literally one large urban area. Back in the day there was single lane roads that stretched all the way from Orange Grove past Sandton and through what was then called Halfway house and finally ended in Pretoria. It was a day’s outing to get to the capital city, yet nowadays people commute between Midrand and Pretoria or Jo'burg for business, with ease. Horse farms and small holdings were scattered over the entire region, very little is left of such abodes as new security complexes and townhouse complexes have filled the sky line. Modern shops and businesses and new housing developments have literally mushroomed up on either side of the freeway. Mobile home rental to Midrand is a doddle, with all types of mobile home rental outlets in the vicinity. The convenience of the place is what makes it attractive. You are far enough away from the decaying C.B.D. of Jo'burg but you are so centrally situated it is a stone throw from the Sandton district and the convenience of the N1 Freeway that services the traffic flow to and from Pretoria. Some pundits have forecast the one day Pretoria, Midrand and the greater Johannesburg metropolis will become one big city.
